If your ancestor did not leave adequate records for you to find out anything about him or her directly does not mean your search for information reached the proverbial "dead end".
You might need to try looking at different ways to reach your ancestor from the present day. The information you seek is usually there, but you might need to consult with other researchers and the people at the Alexandria Historical and Genealogical Library can help get you started.
Many of the volunteers and associates you find at AHGL will be able to give you helpful resources and tools to set you on your way to discovering your ancestral past.
With a great deal of patience and persistence; willingness to think outside the box, and travel through some unusual pathways, you will be successful in your search.
We hope you will give us a call, or come in during our hours of operation, and let us help you find your ancestors.
